Elio Berhanyer, also known as Juan Berhanyer, was a Spanish fashion designer born in 1929 in Córdoba, Andalusia. He started his fashion career in Madrid in the 1950s as a stylist for a department store before opening his own salon in 1958. Berhanyer was known for his elegant and sophisticated designs, often using high-quality fabrics and intricate details like embroidery and beading. He was a favorite of Spanish royalty and designed for Queen Sofia and Infanta Elena. Berhanyer also designed costumes for films and theater productions in Spain. Throughout his long and successful career, Berhanyer won numerous awards for his contributions to the fashion industry in Spain. He passed away at the age of 89 in 2019.
